What to Consider When Suffering From Menopause and Night Sweats
Updated: Mar 1

Menopause is a time in a woman's life when her periods stop and she has hot flashes. One of the potential side effects of menopause is night sweats. Night sweats can be a symptom of menopause. When your body heats up you may become more wakeful which decreases slow wave sleep and rapid eye movement sleep. So you may not feel rested the next morning. There are many ways to help manage night sweats in menopause.
What helps with hot flashes at night?
1.) Sleep on your side as it alleviates some pressure from your throat and chest so it allows more room to breathe.
On Amazon this pillow is rated 4 out of 5 stars. Review: I am so happy I took a chance on this pillow. What's awesome is that I can take out or add the "stuffing" (which by the way had no odor! I've read countless reviews that even the more expensive pillows had a toxic order!) And to my delight it came with a satin finish pillowcase.
2.) Increase ventilation in your room.
On Amazon this has 4 out of 5 ratings. Review: The size is perfect. Not big or too small. The fan has 4 settings and 4th setting is the highest which blows a great amount of air out, love that. The fan is mostly quiet, actually soothing to me even on the highest setting. What’s also really cool if you have kids or enjoy sleeping with a nightlight in your bedroom, this has different colors you can set!!! Not too bright or dim, just right!
3.The correct bedsheets for sweat and heat control.
On Amazon 4 out of 5 ratings. I bought these sheets because I stick to my bed with sweat every night. They didn't completely keep me dry but they did help absorb a lot of my body heat through the night. Also, these are the most baby soft sheets I've ever felt. So incredibly comfortable and heavenly. I do understand the comment about them being thin but don't think that's all too concerning. Great price as well. Highly recommend.
4.) When you sleep you generate new cells so that your body repairs itself. Your skin make collagen overnight which helps with wrinkles and fine lines.
On Amazon ratings of 4.5 out of 5. I'm 32, started to notice some face wrinkles. Tried this cream and liked it a lot. I worried about it taking ages to dry, but it's actually really easy to apply, nice consistency. Also like the fact that it does not messes with my perfume - the scent is neutral and fit for a male to use. I've been using this for about two weeks, and will continue using it, hope the results will be as impressive as everything else. Solid choice
5.) Lack of sleep can increase blood pressure and effect stress hormones, less immune system strength, lack of mental acuity. Before sleeping some organic night tea can be a natural remedy.
On Amazon night tea rating of 4.5 out of 5. Important to note the brewing time for this tea. Boiling water and a solid 15 min to steep with a cover on your mug. First time I made it was 5 min steep and it didn't do anything for me. We drink this about every other night. It helps us relax mentally and physically and helps us sleep much better. Some people mention the smell. Valerian root has an odor that is not attractive. Just don't stick it up to your nose..lol. Once you brew it there is no smell. I was skeptical that it would honestly help us sleep better/relax but it works amazing for us. Not everyone reacts the same way to medicines or herbal remedies. We drink a lot of herbal teas and this has a great taste. We don't add sweenter since it's at bedtime.
